FAQ

Should I use degrees or radians?
Most scientific calculators default to degrees (DEG mode) for everyday use, but switch to radians (RAD) when working with calculus, physics, or computer programming. Our calculator has a toggle to switch between modes.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log(x) is the base-10 logarithm, while ln(x) is the natural logarithm with base e. Natural log is useful in calculus, physics, and engineering.
How do I use the calculator?
You have two ways: (1) Click the on-screen buttons to build an expression, then press =; (2) Type directly into the input field — e.g., "sin(30)", "2*pi", "sqrt(144)", or "log(100)". Press Enter or click = to evaluate.
What does each button do?
sin / cos / tan — trigonometric functions (argument in current angle mode). sin⁻¹ / cos⁻¹ / tan⁻¹ — inverse trig, returns angle in current mode. √ — square root. log — base-10 logarithm. ln — natural logarithm (base e). π — pi constant (~3.14159). e — Euler constant (~2.71828). n! — factorial (e.g., 5! = 120). x^y — exponentiation (e.g., 2^10 = 1024).
Can I type expressions directly?
Yes — typing is often faster. Use these symbols: * for multiply, / for divide, ^ for power, π or pi for pi, e for Euler, sqrt(...) for root, log(...) for base-10 log, ln(...) for natural log, sin(...) etc. for trig, asin(...) for inverse trig, ! after a number for factorial. Parentheses work as expected for grouping: (3+4)*2-sqrt(25) = 9.
Why did I get an Error?
Common causes: missing closing parenthesis (sin(30 without )), using decimal points in factorials (5.5! is undefined), or typing an unsupported function name. The calculator only recognizes: sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sqrt, log, ln, and parentheses.
Does it save calculation history?
No — each calculation is independent. Use the C button to clear the current expression, or ⌫ to delete one character at a time.
